I noticed something the other day when I was carrying an 848 rear wheel in one hand and 749 rear in the other, 749 weighed a ton in comparison. Would it seem strange or affect handling at all if I were to just get a mag for the rear and leave the front stock cause I'm too cheap to buy the set? The front wheels on those 2 bikes felt the same weight.
The lighter your wheels are, the less unsprung weight and better it will handle & turn. Back in 2001 I even converted my SV650 SuperBike to GSXR600 forks & ran single 320mm rotor with 6-pot caliper. Still stopped very well and turned great!
