pretty interesting Twitter post he made. I doubt, based on previous interviews, he would make the full time jump. Too much time away from his family. But Yosh Suzuki is running a limited WSBK schedule so it seems on the surface like Mat would be a good fit. Now all we need is for Bayliss to run a couple one-off races against him.![]()

Lol, I think its a joke.
He's to much of a pussy to make the move, and if i had to listen to his interview in WSB, I'd stop watching it just like the AMA![]()
Yamaha
I'd be surprised if he made the move knowing he'd be a "middle-rung" rider.
I wouldn't mind seeing Nitro and Cal make him cry.
eh, to be honest, i think your responses are based on the fact you think he's an asshole. now i don't think he's the greatest guy in the world, but he can ride a bike and i'm willing to bet he can place in the top 5 out of the box. But bergs, middle rung??? seriously? why do you think that?

I predict he'll be mid-pack if he makes the move to WSBK....remember, "if". After a few races like that, I think his frustration will get the best of him and don't see him placing much better than mid-pack or lower top 10 out of the gates and probably for a good part of the season.
I think he's a dick, yes, but I also think he's a much less established rider when compared to the top riders in the WSBK paddock. Just MHO.
it would go along way keeping us americans interested (and Aussies missing Bayliss) in WSBK with now Spies gone
well the rumor has been expanded on saying that the talks are with BMW. i think that takes away some of the validity of the story but stranger things have happened.
i still think saying mid-pack is a stretch. spies had a tough time beating mat when they were together, the guy is no slouch.
but in any event, we can be hypothetical all day and still have no idea.

I have to say while I absolutely loathe Mladin... he would definitely be able to mix it up for the rostrum with the right equipment. You have to bear in mind he *has* been in GPs, albeit on the under-powered Cagiva 500. Guy can definitely ride. That said, I'd love to see this happen because it'd finally be a venue where other riders could challenge him on somewhat "equal" terms. You have to remember, not only did Yoshimura run a proper crew, they were the same crew / tracks / relatively the same bikes for nearly a decade. Like Ducati's factory WSBK team, there's something to be said for continuity, experience, etc.... you can show up at any track and know you have a close base line setup... makes things quite a bit easier.
Sure, but look what Spies did as a rookie rider, new bike, new team{to him anyways}, new tracks. Home track advantage IS important, but not insurmountable. If Mladin could go over there with his crew, he could be a threat on just about any brand. All he needs is to get pissed off.
According to the WERA site, Matt's latest twits look like he can not get a good enough deal in WSBK.

I for one would love to see it. Some people think he's a dick but the fact is he can flat out ride. I don't care if he is a dick, I want to see great racing. For his age he is top tier IMO. Wealth of knowledge and expir. to go with it. Haters might be in for a surprise.
