Not just Rossi... That still photo of Mav that jimmycapp just posted above... Mav's got BOTH hands off his handlebars bracing for impact with Zarco's bike after it went THROUGH that air barrier. Holy fuck.
And the shadow of Morbidelli's front tire on Mav's rear tire shows how close that was as well.

100%. If the camera located outside the corner past the crash zone that caught most of the action was panned a little further left had Mav in the shot as Zarco's bike wen't through that air barrier I think we'd get a better look at how close he was to getting his head knocked off.
The camera that's actually to the inside of the apex caught it brilliantly, but because it was still panning as Mav and Rossi came into frame, it's pretty blurry.... But Zarco's bike 100% went directly over Mav's head and missed him by fractions of an inch. It's a fucking miracle he made it out unscathed.

At the 1:12 mark... be quick on the pause/play button and give it the best frame-by-frame you can.

Anyone see Dovi's post-race talking about Petrucci's choice to go out on the soft front? It's a choice a number of riders made because they had all gone through their allotment of medium fronts. Dovi basically said, "it was still the wrong choice, the medium would last for 2 races."

Side note, is anyone using the MotoGP app on Amazon Firestick? When I watch the live videos everything's fine, but when I watch recaps or interviews, video footage is choppy... can't figure it the fuck out.

Try dropping the resolution down to 720p. Maybe they use different encoding for different programs or something. We were using my wife's ancient laptop and the video was really choppy, but the previous weekend's races were fine. Changing the resolution fixed it, not quite as sharp but it was good enough.

Still photos are scary as shit but doesn't come close to live footage. Maverick dodged a quick death twice within 2 seconds. And mother of F'n god how didn't anyone die in Moto2 race?! The Simoncelli death didnt stop Rossi from racing but Sunday has to have him thinking about the next couple years..
I'm a giant Rossi fan. But I feel a lot of why people talk so much about how close this was for him is because he has been racing for so long. How much shit has that dude seen? I just wonder at what point has that guy used up his 9-lives?!
I'd have sat out the restart if I was either Rossi or Vinales. I know that much. That's one of many things that separates me from those cats. Giant balls of solid steel.
Is there word on what happened to Vinales on the restart? Was it mechanical?
I was screaming at the TV for the announcers to lay off the guy. After that I could not blame the guy if he was spooked. Although it sounds like there was a problem with the bike as well.
Nope. I've passed judgement from my couch thousands of miles away. That dude is a dick. At MotoGP level races don't get red flagged because someone rode off into the grass or made a mistake. Stuff has to have gone really wrong. Throwing a temper tantrum rolling into the garage under a red at that level of racing is not cool in my book.
Pol's whole reason for being mad was he knew they didn't have another medium front and he thought he'd have to go out on a soft. Perhaps he should have gone and had a chat with Dovi and gone back out on the same front tire. Or, maybe he's a spoiled dickhead and it wouldn't have made a difference. Honestly, other than asparagus joke, I've been pretty indifferent on Pol until this year. The spotlight definitely hasn't done him any favors.
And yeah Bubs, agree with you 100%. Red flag at this level means some serious shit happened.

Guess Rossi’s bright yellow drew my eyes to him and missed how close of a call Maverick had.
Probable the scariest crash I have ever seen! Lucky boys for sure both the crashers and the missed riders! I few feet either way and this would be a very different conversation! Fate is a strange thing!

Hey anyone remember some guy named Jorge nobody could catch a while ago? Does he still ride?
Retired (until further notice!). In reality there is so much young talent coming up the opps for him - and not to mention a Mr Andrea Iannone are getting slim. Jorge would command a ton of $ and riders like Brad Binder and Joan Mir are crushing it making less than 1.5 Mil.
Actually not retired, Lorenzo is the Yamaha test rider this year. Due to COVID there's a ban on testing and no wild cards for test riders though.....

How often has MotoGP spent two weekends in a row at the same track?
They're doing it FOUR TIMES this season... wacky.
Rounds 5 and 6 (Austria)
Rounds 7 and 8 (Misano)
Rounds 11 and 12 (Aragon)
Rounds 13 and 14 (Valencia)

Or supercross for that matter.
The absolute balls on JZ. Would have been so easy to mail it in today.

So many new faces on the top of the podium this year
The last 10-12 laps of Moto2 were great, awesome watching Bezzecci track down Martin, if not for that slight mistake on the exit of turn 1 on the last lap, he probably gets the job done.
I’ll be interested to see what punishment is coming to Lowes after his kamakazi move into 3. That was really bad.
