Sounds great. We typically set up our pit at NHIS on the Thursday evening before race weekends. We are usually working in our pit area Saturdays and Sundays during race weekends from 7:00am until around 6:00pm. What ever time you can show up to help is always appreciated. Our pit area will likely be in our traditional area, which is the first spot as you enter the infield straight out of the tunnel. If you arrive on a bike, you can drive right in. If you are in a car, they typically ask you to park outside the tunnel and walk in through the tunnel. Look for the big NESR RACING banner hanging on the race tents. We can use all sorts of talents, from people to run basic errands to people to time laps to people to work on the bikes. We also need more umbrella girls, so feel free to bring a few.Originally posted by mungersv

You can camp out at the track for the weekend if you are so inclined. (tent, camper, etc)
There will be lots more details posted in this forum as we approach the race weekends.
Here is the current schedule at NHIS. We'll also likely be running a few races outside the area this summer. (VIR, Florida, etc)

As long as you can safely operate a quad or a pocketbike and follow the infield pitbike rules, helpers of the nesr race team will not have to carry gas cans 3 blocks or even walk 3 blocks for grid possitions and lap times, at least not while i'm thereOriginally posted by kip
I hope you have a strong back. Wait til they tell you they need gas and you have to carry 4 - 5 gal. cans about 3 blocks. Sound like fun to you.![]()

Basically. But don't expect to be grabbing tools and tearing into bikes just yet. A skills assessment must take place first. But trust me, we can always use help. For the most part, the bikes are setup and only need regular fueling/tire changes. There is the instance when a little extra is required, but we are (for the most part) limited in the amount of spares available. The real help comes with organization......time keeping, race and grid positions etc. 90% of the work can be done before racing begins.

Pigs don't say "Buh-kawk!"

...and you do (unfortunately) need to buy a pit pass. It's usually around $25 for the weekend. It gets you into the track and the pits for the entire weekend. You buy them at the gate on the outside of pit entrance. (with the pass you can also camp out at the track if you choose. They have bathrooms and a few basic showers available.)
Once we land that big sponsorship deal we'll be able to buy the passes for everyone...![]()
DAMNIT! I haven't had my dose of Farva lately. Chicken-fucker! My bad....
I don't mind buyin a pit pass. I wasn't expecting it to be a free weekend. I consider it a worthy investment into my experience and knowledge fund.

25 bucks isnt bad, I figured you folks wouldnt just let any hack off the street near the race bikes, 6.17 X 4-5= not all that heavy, in grade school i carried six gal. up a long hill to the boat dock and it wasnt that bad. just bieng in the pits and around other ridders sounds like a good enough time to me if i can be used somewhere thats even better, ill deffinatly (cant spell) be at the first race.
Hanging out and/or helping in the pits, corner working, or even just hanging out at the track are all GREAT ways to get comfy with all the procedures associated with racing...
No one'll hafta carry gas cans halfway around the world...![]()
