    Any news on James Petrill?

In race 5 on sunday, #457 - James Petrill had an ugly crash. I did not see his family for the rest of the day and heard that he was injured. Does anyone have any news?

Best wishes to James and his family.

I know he at least had a foot injury, his boot was worn through. He got into the ambulance unassisted. It was me who collided with him just past the tree house. We had been racing each other and were in the middle of a number of lappers when he slowed and moved right just as I was coming up on him on the right; I tried hard not to hit him but couldn't do it. I don't blame him for the collision, he didn't know I was there, and I expect riders to go in turn 9 wide, but add lappers to the mix and somthing unexpected can happen and did. Believe me, I regret the entire incident and my part in it.
I hope James recovers soon and wish him well.

Yeah, here's to a speedy recovery. I didn't see it, but assuming it went down the way you say it did, that's just racing. And from the sound of it ("He got into the ambulance unassisted.") it sounds like he got off easy. That's not a fun place to crash.

Talked to his father last night. He was still in the hospital, not sure if they were going to release him yet. Leg and foot pretty busted up. He was in good spirits and anxious to get bike to the track as soon as he is healed up.

You both got up right after the incident and walked with us to the ambulance without assistance. I did find a knee puck that was in pretty rough shape (like it had come to a quick stop and ripped out of the velcro that used to hold it on, I assume it was his since you seemed relatively unhurt.. Hope he recovers quickly and im glad you ended up alright.

Bike wise, your bike definitely was worse off than his, it was still running when i got to it and i rolled down the hill on it after that race, yours we had to work to get it down the hill.
