I asked for several changes after weekend and the track came through on a number of them.
1) The paint line in turn 1a was coated with a substance called Good Grip that should eliminate the traction issue in that corner
2) The tar snakes from turn 7 to turn 10 have been fixed
3) The track purchased some curbing for turn 2 to deliniate the inside of the turn and get rid of the cones in there.
Good stuff guys.....a little "thanks" email to the track would probably be appreciated and won't hurt our chances of having them listen to our future feedback either.
A side note - we have a couple hundred feet of new airfence coming for the classic as well.
Good stuff.
It would be nice if
4) The PA system now works in the garages
5) The FM frequency is now working

that's awesome!
I rode the track Monday for the first time this year. At my sub 1:30 track day pace, even with all the oil stains, I had no issues with the painted line or the snakes. I also like the new curbing in 9.

Email sent, and thanks to you for advocating for us.
The track was in pretty good shape on Monday, sans tar snakes. Looking forward to seeing the updates.
Any info on which areas the new couple hundred feet(!!) of air fence will be placed?
i sent an email is well. I'm with STGT...thanks for working on our behalf, Eric.
Awesome!

I sent a thank you email directly to Tom Blanchette, since he's the one who always represents the track at our riders' meetings.
Edit: and received a "you're welcome" reply less than 10 minutes after I sent my original email.
Thanks Tom and the rest of NHMS for constantly improving the track. Also those advocates from LRRS.
I noticed that with the warmer weather on Monday, that the new pavement put down at the Apex of Turn 2 now creates an additional "bump" just before the first transition of the NASCAR Oval. Any chance of taking a roller or grinder to help minimize the additional bump that unsettles suspension heading back onto the NASCAR track?
1. Great news, hopefully the coating will live up to its given name.
2. Also good news; snakes belong in the zoo or on planes, not on the track.
3. Also appreciated (although I note Wheelieman14’s remarks about the curbing/bump). I figured it was only a matter of time until I came out of T2 wearing one of those cones.
4. What is the appropriate email addy to send my little thank you note?
5. Are the new sections of airfence coming merely for a visit over the classic weekend or will NHMS now be their permanent residence?
Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I have to say I agree with KB ... especially since I’m also a resident of the center garages. This has been an ongoing issue for … god, as long as I’ve been in the center garages like six, seven years now.
Now for my side note: I’d like to thank you for (1) your work on our behalf, and (2) your presence and interactions on this forum. It's very much appreciated.

You can send it directly from the www.nhms.com site. Go to "Contact Us" and click on the link for Tom Blanchette, Director of Operations.
You'll fill out a form that sends an email. He replied to the email address that I entered in the form.

I guessed what it was and got a response so I'm guessing he got it
Like Gino said above, the tighter you get, the less of a bump it is.
For reference, I was going through there full bore and hit my WRIST on one of the cones lying on its side at the T2 apex. That's how tight you want to be. (okay, maybe not quite THAT tight, but you get the idea.)

I rode today with the Fishtail group. No issues with grip anywhere. I was tenative after hearing the stories from the Lemons race, tar snakes, slippery stripe, etc (and riding on last year's tires).
As I said, no issues. I thought the track was in good shape and I like the new curb in T9.
Thanks to everyone that's making it happen for bikes at Loudon. I'll be emailing a thanks to NHMS as well.
