So I had some spare time this AM and I did some math just for fun.
First I computed the points standings for the 3 races I race in.
I am currently in 4th for the ULSB Novice points! (Would be in first if I hadn't DNF'ed last race)
I am also 4th in the LWSB Novice points!
Both of these classes have a guy above me who advanced to Amatuer so that is one guy I will most likely pass.
I am 17th in the LWSS Novice points.
If anyone wants to know where they are at in those point areas I have a list.
My index sucks at 0.304. Not that I am looking to move up any time soon, I just would like it a little better. (It's hard to make it up)
With all that I am wondering if I should drop LWSS? The bike is technically not legal for the class, I was just using it for more tracktime and something to do on Saturday. I know more peps in that class and find it fun but my finishes haven't been stellar considering the number of people usually in a race. Plus it is FULL of SV's!
I really think I am gonna drop it and then I can cornerwork Saturday and race Sunday. Maybe my index will come up a little then as well.
Your thoughts?

There are no points in the novice class.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Well whatever... it is just nice to know where I am at amoung my peers![]()

Previous years they didn't list points for novice. They had an "amatuer championship" listing before, last year they changed it to an "amatuer achievement". This year there's nothing.

Just like us novices.
I say we take up a collection and give out or own awards.![]()

if im not getting anything for AM then why award points? and does that mean i dont have to move up next year? what kind of racing organization doesnt give awards for AM.
and Doc..im the NV Thunderbike champ 2 years in a row![]()
drop races that are bringing down your average. if that is a concern for you. if you dont care about advancement and all you want is tracktime then run whatever you want.

The only place in the 2007 rulebook that puts "Amateur" and "Championship" in the same sentnce is this:
"Any amateur rider that wins a championship will be automatically advanced for the following year"
Asside from that it's all Expert stuff.

instead of worrying about your index or your position worry about your technique, your riding. novice stock-motored hawks have run consistent 23's in past years. if you were running 24's you'd be trophying (or winning) in every novice lightweight race you enter.
concentrate on riding better and everything else will happen.
and dont even think about saying things like "those old hawk novices were <this> or <that> and that's why they put down those times". it's bullshit and you know it. given the track time there's no reason you can't put down those times as well. just continue to make small improvements and shift the motorcycle A.D.D. to a different topic![]()

About a year ago my mom's gave me a file she had been holding onto from my high school days with report card, disciplinary report, the whole works.
Well on of the disiplianry reports read, and i quote "Keith was deliberatly adjusting the belt sander out of adjustment to cause damage to it. When I asked him what he was doing, he told me to suck his dick"
Fuckin wood shop man. What else we got to do but cause trouble, make birdhouses, wooden bowls, and get high. The funny thing is i was mentioning this in front of my nephew who is 11 and when I did I said S my D instead of SUCK my DICK, cuz you know i like to set a good example!!!

You can still get plaques / trophies in novice and expert right?
