I'm planning to run the open practice Friday afternoon. I assume that I simply register when I get to the track. Correct? Anyone know how much it costs?

?? i'm attending Penguin school that day - I thought it was all day?
if you take the school you're all set....for people that aren't taking the school you can reg just for afternoon practice, last year it was like $80
be gentle, its my first time.
The price for practice on Fri did go up. I'm 99% sure it is $100.00 now and yes you can register up there in Penguin garage #1.

Yeah, no kidding!
My trailer/ice box/fuzz box is looking even MORE ghetto than last year, if anyone can imagine. No leaks can get by a slathering of foundation sealant!!!!
It looks like for $100 for 3 sessions, I'll be hanging out in the sun grillin in the Cheap Bastid pits. Hoo-ray!

What I meant was...since we'll get 3 sessions at best, it would be smart of everyone to work on getting the winter dust off and not wad themselves. If you do crash, and cause a red flag, that's less practice time and more money for everyone.
The track will be cold, probably green, and I'm probably not the only one that hasn't been on the track since October. I'd rather not have someone pile into me during the first practice sesson of 2008.
To clarify the TP thing: with less track time, it seems like you're more focused to work on your problems - not just hammer around in circles for 20 minutes.

ah ok .. you were just making a general statement ... you had me quoted, so I just took it personal
i agree with you 100% though ... but we all know that it doesn't ever seem to go that way.
although most first weekends are lightly attended, so hopefully that increases our likely hood of complete sessions.

With Friday Practice being $100 this year, i'll be doing this one just to get back into it, but that is it.
I'll just come up later in the day on Friday to setup and get ready for racing Saturday and Sunday.
Its too bad really. I understand that the price of the track/insurance went up a ton, so that cost does need to passed down, but for the amount of laps you get on a Friday, $100 is brutal.

I don't understand, who's passing the cost of the track down? LRRS is NHMS, they get that money. If they're raising costs it's because they want more money, not because they're passing the costs down.
That's right, I forgot you paid penguin to run the open practice on friday. That makes more sense now.
