Middleweight - 600's are the bike for Loudon and where it's at!
Lightweight - SV's and Ducati SS1000's mixing it up!!
Ultralightweight - I may be fat and slow, but little bikes are KILLAH!!!
Supertwins - Where the big boys play with expensive bikes...
So many of you know... I got the bug BAD just being back at the track last weekend. I'm seriously looking at some options for a new race / track bike, but if I were to make that happen, I would only be able to run 1, *maybe* 2 races, as I fully intend to stay focused on providing the best tire service on the planet.
SO, I figured I'd ask what you guys and gals thought... as my race experience is pretty much confined to Supertwins (on an out-gunned 748), GTU (with 600's, that are bloody fast), and the occasional MW or HW SBK race.
So, what's the most fun class to ride in? Although I won't be going the PTwins route, everything else is on the table. I had a good time running an 800SS in Ultra Lightweight but hot damn those SVs are fast!! (Except Oreo's)
I'm also not really a motard guy... but am thinking of getting a Supersport (600 class), or another twin, as I've ridden twins my whole life.. but I seem to do better on a Ducati probably because it's what I have by far, the most seat time on.
Stick with the twins, SV's are fun as crap Or rock that C.edwards in Supertwins and heavywieght.

I second the twins factor.
No shame in ULSB or LWSB.

i voted LW with an SV. good times, as cheap or expensive as you want it to be.

I run an RSVR and while it's fun to ride it is also hungry for tires and expensive to crash, which has had me thinking of adding an SV to the mix. I have a good time doing gto, supertwins, and HWSS.
Get an SV & come play![]()

Those pipes double as sliders. FWIW I just picked up a second 04 Factory in track trim for $6500, I'll end up putting $500 more into it but for that money you can kill an Italian bike and feel good about it.![]()

If you are only going to run a couple classes on the fairly "cheap", I would grab a supersport SV. Right now it is really only competitive in 1 class, LWSS, but you can bump up and run a bunch of other classes.
Plus, in CCS, it might be legal in Ultra-light Superbike next year.
