as usual i only do LWSB on sunday since i have to work on sat. so...ill cut to the chase.
get a good start but cant pull Zack on his HyperMotard down the straight. 2nd into T1 come out of T2 and get passed on the outside by Zev (whos riding his girlfriends bike). follow the leader ensues. zack and zev switch positions once or twice and it keeps me in the hunt. im close but cant see a place to make a move. on lap 5 we catch up to some EX backmarkers between T2 and T3. Zev gets by...Zack gets by...i make an attempt so that i can stay with them and not get split up. i brake HARD into T3, grab a down shift....im not slowing down fast enough..squeeze more.. now i feel the back tire really come off the ground. im in WAAAY too deep i set down the rear by letting go of the brake but now im AT the apex and i still cant turn the bike. Zev comes across my bow and i know whats about to happen...BAM..i hit him....im still up...hes still going. grab a few downshifts and fall in right behind zack going up the hill. (i also had apparently caused one of the EX i was passing to crash...SORRY...totally my fault, couldnt get the bike stopped) i give chase again and we reel in zev and zack passes him again for the win and i take 3rd.
watching that HM down the straight was just plain SCARY. zack had one foot off the peg and the thing VIOLENTLY shook all the way down the straight and into 6.
it was a fun race. sorry about the accident i caused. everyone was OK and thats all that matters.
fast riders like Zack and Zev meant faster times for mefunny how it doesnt feel like im going this fast. a 23 from a DEAD STOP!

When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

was he on an EX? i dont know. he was an expert..#210 i think. he let me know how he felt about it. i told him it was all my fault. if BOTH wheels were on the ground i could have had it under control and just slipped in behind him or next to him.
i have red paint on my bike and i dont know where it came from. Zevs bike doesnt have red on it does it? was there anything wrong with Zevs bike other than the big rubber mark on the exhaust?
yes.

Zevs bike, well, Leezas was blue, nothing red about it. (actually, come to think of it, she recently replaced her tail section. It might have red on it, I really cant remember). I didnt even hear that he hit you, I spend more time in their pit than anywhere and I heard nothing about it until the guy that crashed came by. He seemed pretty heated. I kinda tuned him out when he said something like, I was 10 feet behind him and it was a dangerous pass and I couldnt recover. I think he just needed to vent. I understand he was upset, but he probably shoulda tried to cool down before coming to the pits, but it wasnt me and I didnt see it, so what do I know.
"Ex Backmarker"
EX meaning Expert.
Not Racer of the super snazzy Ex500 Motorcycle.
I think I got it![]()
