Yeah, excellent post by Peter. I have tried to race a few bikes that had been set-up with too little trail (forks raised in the triples), and I could only go 80 percent. The worst spot at Loudon was Turn 9. With no feeling from the front, and the tendency to just keep leaning instead of hooking into the turn, there was just no way I would risk pushing anymore than 80 percent.
The big deception is that these bikes do turn in easier. So when you aren't pushing the limits of the bike, it appears to handle great with little trail.
On the other side of the coin is Tyler's ex-Greenwood ZX-6. The forks are pushed down in the triples as far as they will go. The bike has tons of trail. At first I couldn't get it to turn in, especially T3. Then I started trailbraking and it turned in much easier. Mid corner feel was incredible. I could push the front and it never felt like it would tuck on me. Now, why I could push the front at my pace is another question. Too much trail, or just too stiff for me?
agreed - its all ultimately my fault - no excuses from me
tough way to learn a lesson, but that's why they call it a sighting lap - aparently i ignored the sighting part and got lazy... just want to get better and back out there!
always looking for advice paul, as long as its positive, so don't ever hesitate, it always appreciated!
Thanks,
Denno
ps. my vision is fine, was using a brand new suomy visor as well... just a rider error...
Save the cheapsots???????????WTF am I on NESR or did this become some other board that I was redirected to?
Heal up Grasshopper!!! Glad you got the first one out of the way before race season. I've broke both clavicle's and they suck. Can't button your pants, wash your hair, brush your teeth with the broken side. Wiping your ass is the worst.

Yeah, it can get ugly in there.
Just like any bike specific forum, there are a handful of guys who know what they are talking about, a few guys who like to stir the shit, and even a few guys who just want to "rip some mad stunta shit yo"...
Yeah the Triumph Triple Challenge had it's own YouTube channel. And as mentioned AJ has a ton of great footage.
not dennos first crash. he dumped it in front of me in 12 at NHIS at a trackday.
