I was consistently slower than some of the guys behind me this weekend, but got a good start and clicked of the laps consistently and was able to finish a head of them.
The mw expert class is all about the start though. Its so hard to get by once things sort themselves out.

rookie race was a mess. I almost flipped over on the start. Think I did a 1:30 or something. But in my last race on that first weekend I finished fourth and did a 1:26.5
I even got a trophy.

gman, what were you riding back then?
I think the point of this thread has been lost on most here. No matter where you start out it takes 4-5 years for a good rider to near his potential. It usually has NOTHING to do with the times you started out turning.
In my 9 years arouns Loudon I've never seen a ROTY become a top running expert... It takes a lot of patience to get really fast and win at the expert level. You can't get it all at once.
I dont know if I like to recall my first weekend. Penguin school went well for me. Learned a lot. Felt good out there on my nice shiny bike bombing around the track. Busted out a 23 flat in second practice and then the next lap I highsided my bike in T4.
The bike was a wreck and even with PK doing his best to get it back together there was no way it would be ready for my rookie race. Luckily as all of us that race know we are a big family. Jay Holland gave me his motard to race with. Another guy gave me a helmet and off I went. I did a blistering 1:34 but survival was the key and I dinged up my should pretty good in my crash so i couldnt hang onto the bike all that well.
Out of the five races I entered I managed to get to the grid for one. I did the GTU. Fun race. Finished on the lead lap. 10th in class with a 1:26.1
clapped out honda f4.... I was really an also ran until I got on the SS Ducati's.. They seem to fit me..

I really enjoy the race reports. It is the first thing I check when I turn on the PC. Keep em coming. Thanks
...my PB after a year is slower than many people's out lap on their rookie race?!
1:45:880
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
