On the EBC the buttons are suppost to be loose right?
I think I remember seeing that they should be replaced with the smaller buttons after the first heat cycle in the rotor.
I think i still have the replacment buttons but I can't remember the exact reason for replacing them and when to do it.
Advice?
Thanks.
You replace them so that the rotor doesn't get so loose it allows the brake pad to fall out.
Ask me how I know![]()
I always put the "loose" pins in to start. They allowed the rotor to float nicely.
Sounded like a bucket of loose bolts wheeling around the pits, but was super smooth when I used the brakes.
Not sure how a floating rotor lets pads fall out... but I sure don't want to own a bike where that can happen.![]()
I didn't replace them, and the rotor got so loose a brake pad fell out.

This is what I'm saying. Maybe I'll buy Hobbs' Ducati. I don't know though. Cheater bike?
