This will happen shortly, whether it is Roush/Fenway or someone else. It is known (several media outlets and from Bob himself a few years ago) that the owners son does not want to run the track alone. I would also imagine that whoever buys it will make improvements, so they can maximize their investment.
The sale, in my mind, is great news. The new owners probably had to make promises to Nascar to get the OK, town and has most likely already spoken to the AMA. They will want to improve the business model so they can make more money. Roush already owns tracks and knows motorcycles are profitable, therefore no reason to get rid of them. They also know that track prices are less further south (yeah we have the weather issue here but that should not affect pricing as much as it does). I am not sure is the current owner owns a lot more land then just the track but if he does then you might even see another track going in as those rumors even flew with the current ownership. Roush/Fenway has a lot more $$ to play with here, so expect good things! My .02cents
Dear Rediculously Rich Man,
I have been racing motorcycles at NHIS for a little while now and Just want to make sure my interests in the track are accounted for before I authorize you to make the purchase of the speedway with your millions of dollars.
Thanks,
No-name Middle class person with no say in anything to do with this.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Short, to the point...I like it.![]()
Dear Ridiculously Rich Man,
I thought I would write to you to represent a small minority of Motorcycel Roadracing fanatics you will soon inherit with your purchase of NHIS.
I feel it is my duty to inform you that these ball busting, beer drinking, practical joking, speed freaks! Are some of the best people on Earth.
You would do yourself a diservice sir if you were to shun these individuals.
I hope that you will take this into consideration upon your purchase.
Thank you for your time, I wish you success in your endevors.
P.S. If you are even thinking of NOT having motorcycle racing at NHIS in the future these "Nice people" can turn into some vindictive asses if you give them the right "motivation". I'm just saying![]()

from Jerry Wood:
Gang,
I can tell you this. When the Briar Motorsports Park track got sold we
(LRRS) were part of the sales package. The LRRS is proud to be one of
the largest (if not the largest) roadracing series in America and we
have with one of the best safety records in the country. Many "Clubs"
are run on a shoestring and some have difficulty paying bills. The
track owned operation is more profitable than most other venues except
the NASCAR cup series. This always worked for me. We get to have the
security of not being threatened of being replaced by some car event.
The fact that we run in the black means that we can ask for and get
stuff like the state of the art permanent foam barrier protection.
If the LRRS series was abandoned, than somebody would be throwing money
in the trash. I would hope that anyone smart enough to have earned the
cash to purchase the facility would be smart enough to see the value in
a product that will be on the table as an asset in the negotiations for
the sale. There are two NASCAR Cup events and 365 days worth of bills.
What would you do?
Just the ramblings of what is known in the sport as a "lifer".
JW
maybe we will be OK and get some new asphault at the very least of track improvements...or even better... a new course all together somewhere else on property
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
