Guilty as charged.
Thanks for all the advice folks. I'd like a second set of rims since I'll probably be running takeoffs for the first few track days. I figure I'll use them for rain rubber (the rims, not the takeoffs) for next year. $370 in tires for a weekend of racing is better than the $1,000 I was spending.Plus I have a feeling they'll last me longer than one weekend anyways.
I picked up a front TLR rim and some spare calipers off e-blay last night.
I really appreciate it when others are generous either through loaning their spares, tools and especially knowledge but I really don't want to be "that guy" who shows up and raids the neighbor's toolbox repeatedly. While I can't afford to go out and spare the whole bike, I certainly have a little room in my budget for a few things since the race car sold and I won't be entering any events this year save for track days.
Great tip on the tire warmers by the way. In talking with a few people at the track, it became obvious that I could either get tire warmers and run takeoffs for a bit or run a set of street tires. In the grand scheme of things, both options would cost about the same but in the end I' d have the tire warmers. One of the guys at the track has offered to sell me a used set. The price is right. We're just arranging pickup and payment.
I won't be up at the track this weekend. The price is a bit steep (that's a spare master cylinder on ebay right there) and I don't need to pick parts up. Next time...

I may be pushing it, but I am going on my 4th weekend on a set of Diablo Supercrosa SC1. I do 2 races per weekend and usually only one practice. I did start to feel some slipping in the front last weekend, but that's it so far. I am pretty slow right now, but I am getting faster every time out. Tread life, so far hasn't been a problem, and the front wheel slipping may be a result of misadjusted suspension or just crappy riding. I will find out this Sunday, but these tires are done after this weekend.
To be honest, I don't know if what I am feeling is the normal result of riding faster then I have been earlier. I am still figuring out what things should and shouldn't feel like. I felt a single slip in turn 6 on one lap. This could have been from running over some puked oil, or several other things. Other then that one time, the tires have been very sure footed and have given me a lot of confidence.
