Does Yamaha artificially restrict customer bikes like Honda/Duc do?
i think what paul is saying, yes the bike is capable, no ben is not capable (for his first time out on this bike anyways). i'm really curious how he does. he's stated several times that he isn't confident that he could compete with them, but honestly i think that is just another head game and in his mind he can do it. i don't think you can get into that series unless you are a type A personality. no matter what the game is, they always think they are the best.

tech 3 yamahas are supposed to be closet to the factory yamahas than the other manufacturers

ok thanks![]()
although edwards has made some comments about the hp of the bikes since the new engine limits. i hope it's not 100% true as the engine limit rule should have made the factory bikes detune more putting them more in line with the satellite bikes. if they detuned the satellites even more then the rule accomplished nothing

That's great!! Should be interesting to see things to come in 2010.
One thing I haven't really thought much about (until the weeks leading up to this event) is how Spies will handle the one-and-done format of the MotoGP rounds. There's no more "We'll just have to push harder in Race 2," or "We should get the bike straightened out for the afternoon race." I'm not saying he can't handle the pressure, but I wonder if he has to make mental adjustments to prepare for the fact that there are no 'second chance' races now.
Of course none of that matters right now, this is just a test-run. Must be nice to be able to ride with the big boys of GP "just for fun."
The Tech3 and Pramac bikes start off with the same spec as the factory bikes at the beginning of the year but they don't get the new bits nearly as fast, if at all, during the current season. So by the end of a season the factory bikes can be quite a bit different than the satellite teams.

I was wondering about this weekend and did some research:

I forget that he qualified fifth at Indy last year and finished sixth. Not bad, especially on the Suzuki.
Can't wait to watch this race![]()
