I just wanted to say THANK YOU! to all of the corner workers that are out there keeping us riders safe while we are doing what we love to do.
It must have been a tough weekend for them, as it was for all of us.
I don't know everyone that was out there but Keira, Rob and Jay from NESR were, so thanks again for everything you guys do for us.

I made my schedule to race on saturday and cornerwork on sundays.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I mentioned on another board that cornerworkers always unconditionally earn my respect... when someone didn't understand why here was my response:
"When I see someone working a corner I respect that & other riders on the track should respect that, too. I've had my bike picked up off the ground for me, I've had them pick ME up off the ground. Just knowing that they're there keeping watch, ready to throw the flag & help me out and volunteer to do that on their own accord earns my respect. Sure there's incentive, you get money or gift certificates if you work a corner, but you know you earn it because you are doing a service to the riders on track and are given some pretty heavy responsibilities. If you don't do your job & throw that red flag, someone could get seriously hurt."
So Thank you all![]()

Money? I think it works out to less than $2 an hour. Bums sleeping on a the sidewalk in Harvard square make more than that.

hey, it's still money... & it's more than yo ugly, stank ass hoes make in a week

We found out about corner working after Jersey's incident last year with the sleeping corner worker and want to make it as safe as possible for all you racers. You guys are another family to me and whether i have met you or not i know from being at the track that racers are some of the best people around.
I appreciate the thank the other corner workers out there who also give their time and energy to help make the track as safe as possible.
So I wanna cornerwork when I can get up there...who/where do I go to?

get there early... i think the cornerworker's school is at 9am in the Media Center by the tech garage.

Yup. There definitely is always a need for capable workers. The other people in three were telling me that this year they have had, consistently, more workers come out than in the past few years. I'm gad we can be a part of your experience, and I only hope that we can do a good job - you guys definitely deserve it! We can only do all we can do.
And yes, we were working in three all day![]()

im starting cornerworking next race weekend. gonna go up friday night so i can be ther efirst thing saturday morning. looking for sandy right?
There has been a major shortage on cornerworkers this year and last year. Cornerworkers meet in the scales garage, talk to anyone in a white suit or listen to the anouncements.

i'll be there next weekend to cornerwork as well
I know they made a ton of announcements last weekend and i was gonna do it but kitt needed me to help him out since noone else came with us .. it will be fun to be up close to all the action
how do i get in for free if i'm cornerworking. Do i pay the gate fee first then get re-imbursed?
Pay the gate fee and you will get a re-imbursement coucher that you can cash on your way out.
