Do race tires have the same compound on 'em that street tires do? Should I do a handfull of easy laps to scrub 'em in?

When we change the tires during race weekends, we normally weave around the pit area for a bit, not much. The rider then does the one sighting lap, and then races. Seems like it doesn't take a lot to scrub them in.

i go out on shiney tires and just do kinda quick warm-up lap. just being easy on the throttle and brakes. i think my first lap is around 21's or 22's, so they must be scrubbed enuff.

You can scrub them in easily on a sighting lap, and Gary, are you really doing 1:21's on your standing start lap?
