I'm bored and obsessing about my FZR project in my head at the moment and figured others were likely plotting for next year as well.
What's on your 'todo list'?
- Finish bike, obviously
- New boots
- New gloves
- Transponder
- New dry and rain tires
- License app or set aside money for Penguin
- Woodcraft lever guards
- Inspect / re-waterproof tent
- Redo toolbox / race gear bins
- Repack trailer wheel bearings
- Get suit to Vanson for repairs/cleanup
- Dig for sponsorships
- Start spares collection
- Stop re-watching every race video I can find on Youtube
- Prep a new race notebook
While I'm plotting, any reason to go with DOTs over slicks even if the bike will never see a SS race? I doubt my pace will be blistering any time soon, my best was 1:25s, would DOTs last longer and not hold me back at that kind of pace?
Tried that. BAD IDEA! I didn't go down but I was slipping and sliding doing 40's or something. Warm up and half the first lap then decided it just wasn't safe, and I've done well in the rain on Rains.
I was told slicks may last longer but I don't now if it's true. I ran slicks and switch to DOT's and didn't notice much of any difference.
If you run Dunlops they're coming out with a new DOT that's a lot cheaper then their old NTEC's and is supposed to feel about the same.
Good call on trailer bearings, I need to add that to my list.
