good ole 87 octane! 5 gallons will usually last the whole weekend. I think we still make 30mpg during the races.
Not to mention, The novice EX races were the best racing in all the novice class. You guys were battling it out on track learning all kinds of skills, while most other novices were busy just wrestling with their overpowered bikes!
I'm the one always harping on the virtues of the EX, but you guys are the PROOF! Please don't flame me if you started on a 600. That's fine, it's just a longer, more expensive path. I understand that 600s are fun too.
It's ok Paul, everyone already knows we are the next MotoGP stars. We're not bashful about our incredible ability to race the motorcycle equivalent of wet noodles with lawnmower engines around a bumpy track.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Ha!Jay, I watched a lot of races. It was like night and day between the novice EX races and the novice 600 stuff. There's no way we'll ever agree on this. I'm a fan of learning on small bikes, you're not. No sweat, as I said, 600s have other things to offer, like great power. I did see some good novice 600 battles late in the season. Sax had a couple, etc. (actually, that was after he bumped)
I like small bikes. i'd kill for a 250 two smoke. Watching the novice 600 races scared me, even when i was sitting in the stands, i don't know what they were doing. Clayton and Pete raced really well this year/ The bikes are two complete different rides. I can't see myself putting a leg over an EX though, to me they're just toilets, or maybe that's just because I pitted near those guys and saw theirs....

no... you're pretty much right, i shit on mine on a regular basis..... usually when i'm going into turn 1 and it's wobbling around underneath me.
We'll see how it goes after '07, I'll probably ditch the EX for some other lightweight but i'll always stand by the EX as a damn fun & a dirt cheap entry level race bike that teaches you a shitload. Battling w/ Clayton, Biggity & Tom Joyce has made '06 absolutely unforgetable & the expert races were great to watch, too.

I like my EX cause I have less than $900 into it.
Find me another racebike that I can be competitive with for that kinda money and I'll buy it right now.

Jay, you gotta take mine or Pete's out for a practice session or two.
First time I rode it I was on a trackday with my Rex and the EX. Three sessions with the rex, then got on the EX. Came back into the garage with a shit-eatin grin on my face. My buddy asked how it was, I replied in a yell "HOLY SHIT THIS LITTLE THING IS FUN!". The Rex hasn't seen the track since.
It's just a stupid, sloppy, carefree bike that is a hoot to ride.
Just wear KB's leathers so nobody will know it's you on it. We won't tell.

ya I'm not worried about what place I come in I just want to get on the track more.
How do you go about choosing your number? I've started to fill out the form ahead of time as per PK.
Do you just have to sort through the list of number assignments? There must be an easier way. They could have at least split them up by NV/AM/EX as well as alphatebetical.
pick a three digit number... good, now pick another... good, now pick another...
Now go here - http://lrrsracing.com/2007/2007_number_assignments.pdf - click the "search" button & plug the numbers in & see if they're already taken.

That's what I did. At least the numbers are out now.
Actually... go to the site and hit search, then type in a number you want and find that it is taken, do that about 10 times and go through all the numbers you really want. Then when you have exhausted all hope start typing in random numbers, or your "wanted numbers" upside down and backwards. Then you MAY get a number.![]()

I'm that guy! I pull my race bike up to the track with my VW GTI. The GTI has 130000 on it with a 2.0 4 banger, that has no problem towing two bikes and being packed to the roof with race gear. All that and I still get about 28 mpg while doing it! I'm sure a Jeep will have no problem towing your bike.

faaaaack you !!
I sure as shit didn't have an overpowered bike + I had some great battles with "stupidhawk" + others in ULSB on my fzr400.
sure, sometimes if I got the holeshot thru 1 + I ran away with it but other times we had some great battles especially since we had to cut are way thru those shitbox EX proddy twins as we lapped them!
the only thing worse than EX's are those fuckin useless Motards!!!!!!!!!
hey oreo, thanks for the excel sheet that makes it way easier
