I hear that a well renowned EXPERT passed their Trophy onto a novice this weekend
From what I hear that made their day! Maybe something they will never forget.

My new paintjob lasted 2.5 practice sessions this year before I threw the bike into the T8 gravel pit. I did the same exact thing last year. New paint job, t8 gravel trap. Like deja vueI even made sure to drop it and put a chip in it. I did have a new suit also though so that might have done it.
Bump on Hump day...
I certainly am appreciative of the certificates and trophies (donated by experts) that I received this year.
Another question though - is there anything given for the class winners for the year?
Example: I am first for points in NV MWGP, NV HWSB, and third in NV GTO.
Curious - not just for NV but for AM and EX as well...

Kids get certificates for graduating Kindergarten and 8th grade prior to getting the HS Diploma. Why shouldn't Novices get a trophy awarded or at the very least a certificate. I would agree with Oreo something should be done about that. There is nothing worse than seeing a kids heart sink when something like that happens.
after round 7 i turned in my transponder to find out i got 2 first place finishes in my novice races. someone handed me 2 boxes and in them were trophies donated from 2 top experts. i was thrilled and thankful for the experts doing this. i ran 126 and 127s in my races (ultralight) and look forward if i get bumped to improve.
one other note.. i think the thresholds for ultralight and lightweight should be the same as once someone bumps to amateur there are very few ultralight classes and a llarger number of lightweight classes.
it just seems like ive raced all ultrlight novice races and when i look at the rule book my bike goes in lightweight classes. um thats what.. maybe just me ..
It matters more once you get up to Amateur and Expert as it becomes more about the bike and less about the rider. As a novice it was easy to beat sv's and motards on an ex500, but once I bumped to amateur, I no longer could beat the competition on bigger and more capable bikes.

for example sv's were not in my classes but as an amateur i will be racing against them.
beleive it or not the 1000ds is 15lbs lighter than an 800ss ????
