USCRA race, or LAPS on 10/2?

Dilema time, I can either race with the USCRA on Monday, assuming I can rig an appropriate belly pan, OR I can be bored on Monday and plan on attending LAPS on 10/2 if I fork over cash NOW for a nice cheap price... but I run the risk of going 0/3 on track days paid for this year and actually used if the weather doesn't cooperate...

I hate making decisions under pressure...

what year is your bike? I thought the cutoff for most classes was 1985.

They're going to let me sneak into Formula EX with the misfit 16" wheeled EX500s. : )

If you're looking for maximum track time, I'd say I'd say a track day over a race day regardless of who's running the TD. But of you're looking to compete and mix it up with some others, then a race day will be more rewarding. Sort of depends on what you want.

The weather this Summer has been a bummer for track days. I've spent many days myself this Summer standing the garage or soaking wet. Can't predict the weather, but can predict that you will have maximum track time at the LAPS event on 10/2. We're not even closing the track for lunch, fit your chow time in whenever you want. Obviously, I'm biased, but you can check some of the other threads about our WRS and shared events this year. We've had lots of great feedback. And at the $129 price (which ends today) you can't beat it.

My wife decided for me; she pointed out that I prefer competition, and go faster when racing... so USCRA it is. If I've got the cash and the weather is going to cooperate I may attend Carl's on the 1st, but that's up in the air still.

How did it go?

Went great. I didn't get the track time I would have at LAPS, but I was able to ride at full tilt in competition mode, which was great. Lots of dicing it up in traffic, which I need work on. They run a bit more laid back pace for the day compared to LRRS, and I think that was the only reason I had enough energy to pull it off. I spent a good chunk of the day just sitting under Quartergig's EZ-UP watching the world go by between sessions, enjoying the distinctly different sounds of the various vintage machines thundering around.
