Just checking in with some results...
I had 4 races, I am more concerned with improving lap times than placement, and was hoping to lose .5 seconds from last weekend (putting me in the low 1:19 range) but here we go...
MWSS - DQ'd because I thought there was a red flag when a rider in front of me went down in the braking zone for 3 and kicked rocks all over during lap 1... 3 guys in front of me put up hands and I rolled through to T10 for the "restart" that never happened... I hopped back on the track to get the laps in anyway.
MWGP - 5th Was a great race (I love these 12 lap races) and I figured I was doing well since I managed not to get lapped by one of the woods this time around... was following jamie for a few laps but couldn't hang... then there were a bunch of spills, regrids, overheating during pre-staging... Ended up setting my best lap time (1:18:4). I ran 4 1:18 laps, and 4 1:19 laps that race... 2 were from a stop, and the last 2 I was probably in some traffic or being a wuss. Anyway, I was happy to get the 18's on my stock susp set-up.
in the MWGP race, I was dragging hard parts, which gave me quite a scare in T1 when the weight transfered from my back tire to my peg and stepped out by what felt like at least a foot.
MWSB - WOOD for 4th, Don't remember much of the race, but I battled back and forth with #230 for a bit which always makes it fun... I have to figure out better braking zone for T3... from what I hear, I have a good drive through and around 3&4, and I always seem to be strong out of 2... but im horrible at braking into 3.
HWSS - 5th (WE REALLY NEED MORE PEOPLE IN THESE RACES) haha... think maybe some people were pampering their mommas... oh well. Had a good time, passed a few experts, got held up behind a guy braking at the 4 board and put the bike into a skid sending me wide in 1 and costing me 4th.
so 1:18:4 is the time to back up next weekend... If I can consistantly run the 1:18's I will scrape and save to see just how much suspension can help.

Haha, don't think they will. But the tires are mint... only one sprint race on em.
I don't need em, I already have two sets of rims, so I'm probably gonna sell em to a fellow EXer that needs em.

nice job bud, 18s are no joke. As far as braking in T3, I try to brake HARD early and then set my turn in speed over the bumps down the chute...its all about being smooth (as always). Dragging a little rear brake can help keep it in control too.
18's!!!You're flying out there man, mind if I grab a tow... Congrats on the wood. Missing this weekend really set me back!! Damn Screw!
well done. 18's are great, i don't run an I4 so don't quote me, but I think this is where the hard work begins. meaning you don't see the full second drop in times from weekend to weekend. suspension will probably help. i found the geometry from Pk at GMD helped a ton with my SV.... of coursethose things aren't designed to race so they are all kinds of crazy stock.

yea, I wasn't expecting a 1 sec drop from 19.7 to 18.4 either... I figure I can back up 18's for a couple weekends, then if I fight my way to the 17's with or without suspension, I may get some new number plates.
I have to talk more with Mike M, and rob some people so I can get my bike set up.
Congrats.
Sounds like you may a little magic suspension touch if you're running stock bits. Rear sounds a little soft. Just checking out the pictures. Try centering you head in line with the fork tubes on turns to help the bike stand up a little more.
Man everyone is getting faster.

centerign my head between the forks would put me back ON the bike more... what do you mean exactly? I tried getting my top half further OFF the bike on saturday to let the bike stand more, but focusing my attention there, caused a slight drop in lap times.
do you mean put my head further "forward" like "kissing the mirror"?
To start. On a right turn align you head/spine and but to the right fork tube. The same for the left. Eventually you will find yourself going further and reaping the benefit.
