Now if the MotoGP and F1 race were consecutive weekends, that would make for a really crazy vacation. And expensive.
Not too crazy on the location though I've never been to TX.
Austin rocks. I should have moved there with my last job

but the current rounds don't draw near the number of spectators as they should and they've been declining each year. There just isn't the fan base here to support 2 let alone 3 premier races.

I agree won't happen imo

I for one hope it does happen, the attendance at the USGP and WSBK rounds far, FAR eclipses AMA attendance anywhere, and last I checked... attendance and sales for just about anything has been on the decline the past few years. Any additional exposure to the sport is good exposure and if they host some back-to-back US rounds and plan the schedule right, it could seriously help lower the cost to the teams to come here.

Looks interesting. I can't wait for the first track day. It's about an hour from my house.
The nice thing about Texas is that they can get this built without 10 years of litigation over environmental bullshit.

2000 SV650 - Street/Track
That's right, back to a 2 cylinder, 3 cylinder, and a 4 cylinder.
looks like everyone is gonna pull wheelies in between T11 and T12
that is one helluva track, me likes it

I'm with scottie. I hope this goes through. I wish they would bring the whole program though. Moto gp comes here but they never brought 125 and 250 with them. I don't think they brought moto2 last year but Idk. They should do what they do everywhere else and run moto2 and Moto gp as their own event instead of being on the same bill as ama.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

eehhh..... wouldn't be surprised if they drop Indy altogether for the new Austin track. The turn out at Indy has been less than spectacular :: me shrugs::

Holy sh!t, it's actually happening. F1 in 2012, MotoGP (ten year deal/all 3 classes!) starts in 2013.
This place looks awesome http://www.circuitoftheamericas.com/
Here's the release from Indy regarding the Circuit of The Americas.

Combining a world class racing facility with business, training, educational, and community programs is pretty genius.

And you may be right. Fact is, who knows what will happen. At least not yet, anyway.
But two things are certain;
1. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say the more events, the merrier for us all, and
2. With an economic impact of @ $10mm for the Indy event, you can bet they won't let it go easily.
