Anyone using a lift like this? Looking for something for my new-to-me DR650, where I can get both wheels off the ground at the same time (no center stand).

I have two lifts depending on the bike. For my supermoto I used a Motorsport P12 lift stand. Worked good to get both tires up but I'm not sure I would do any real work on it. Just a small lift table in the center doesn't give the best stability.

For heavier stuff I have the craftsman red stand which can be seen here under my Harley. It has the same stability issues any stand that just picks up under the center of the bike will. The nice thing about this over my other stand is the hydraulic jack so you can go up and down smoother. It also appear the "nicer" craftsman aluminum lift is on sale for 10 more then the harbor frieght one you posted if you can find one.

Thanks, guys. I like the idea of the bigger lift for the DR. I'm not sure how much ground clearance the bike has, will measure, and I might try lowering it some. Also, I'd spend more on a center stand for the bike, and I'd rather not have one for off-pavement.

I also have that kind of lift/jack. And I agree, not terribly effective for dirt bikes or dual-sports. I got mine for use under my new Harley touring bike (850 lbs!).
I'd use the quick lift jimmycap lists. Yes, even for a dual-sport. I used the harbor-freight version for years under a DRZ400 with success.

FWIW I also have a harbor freight lift table. That is the bar-none way to go for anything. Once you use a real lift table you won't want to go back to anything else, ever.

Thanks, bubba. I'm not gonna rush it, will keep looking for a while. I do have the HF table lift, with a Condor trailer chock to hold the front wheel. Also have another Condor chock bolted to the floor. So to get the wheels off a bike without a centerstand, I lash one wheel into the chock, then lift the other end of the bike, do the tire change or whatever, then turn the bike around to do the other wheel. Works fine, but I'm thinking one of these lift-jacks would be quicker and less work.

If you can lift the bike I'd say just get a rigid non-lifting dirt bike style stand.

had one of these that i liked...300lb capacity...came with hooks that you tighten to the pegs so it doesn't move...never put a strap over the seat...

I think I'd be able to pick it up if I dropped it, that is, lift back to vertical, was able to do that couple of times when I dropped the KLR650 (with a full tank), but, no, won't be lifting the bike onto a stand.

not cheap, but I have this lift with ALL the lift point attachments, paid $400 for everything. I arranged a group buy at that price (included $300 worth of additional lift attachments) but only one other person took me up on it, I no longer have the contact.

Doesn't look that stable, but I tested it by running into it with my Jeep when my son had his VFR lifted to maxv height. Just pushed it across the garage floor, with not any indication of tipping

yea the weight is the issue...i used to roll my bike up onto a 3 piece board (didn’t have the board setup in the below photos yet) to get the extra clearance and put the kickstand down on a block and just unhook the middle piece of the board, pull it out and just slide the jack under...easier than deadlifting the back end of the bike

I installed swingarm spools on my DR650. I use my front and rear PitBull stands for swapping dirt and sumo wheels.

I have one of those HF “step-on” dirt bike lifts that I Used on my Old DR350, haven’t tried it on the 650 yet though. It was very close to being too tall for the 350, and the 650 might be actually a little lower

I picked up a used center stand cheap from a local guy over the summer, haven’t tried installing it yet thoug

Anyway, I've got the wheels back on the DR, trying Pirelli MT21 front and Dunlop 606 rear. I expect that I'll be trying different tires depending on how I end up using the bike. F'rinstance, I might decide to sell the Multistrada 1000 and go with the smaller bikes, so I might try something like Anakee Wild on the DR, a little more pavement oriented. Not changing my own tires these days, too much hand pain, so I pull the wheels off and take them to Aero Cycle Medford for tire swaps. If I can bring in both wheels at once, I reduce the number of round trips through the traffic. I've worked out a zigzag route that avoids Route 16, Green Line extension construction, and the insane rotary at Powderhouse Square, Somerville. That's my story.
