So the only thing I've done since the last time the bike ran was check valves, now when I turn on the petcock gas just drains from a hose on the bottom of the carb, as well as one of the clear ones that seems to come from the top of the carb. I know Im missing something basic ... so any suggestions?
You are missing the fact that you didn't put fuel stablizer in the gas before you put the bike away and now your float is tick.

You are missing the fact that if you used the old-school "red" Stabil... then your gas still turned to shit.
KB is right, float is stuck and not stopping the flow of fuel when the bowl is full.
Pull and clean the carburetor.

If you didn't use the Marine "Ethanol" approved shit you might as well have jerked off in it.
Or maybe you did and that's the problem.

Yeah, it sucks but, no biggie. You know the routine, drain, yank and clean. If you have to take off the tank, you might as well do the plugs ( if you didn't with the valve adj. ).
Once the floats and their valves stick, it's a good excuse for some quality bench time. If you've thought of some jetting changes, now would be a good time.

Ok, Im gonna refrain from starting a new thread, but a new topic
I need to grease the bearings on the trailer and the new wheels, is there any secret or tricks I need, or is it as easy as it seems? Attach the hose to the nipple squeeze a few times, and stop when stuff oozes out.
Giggity.

are you greasing the wheels or hooking up with my ex-wife?

You can blow the seals out the back with too much grease, too fast. You would think it would be impossible, because the pressure should force the grease through the outboard bearing, but I can assure you, it is indeed possible. If you know there's some grease in there already, inject new grease after a drive, while the hubs are nice and hot and the grease is thinned out.
So I guess red Stabil is bad... :-(

i agree with stiggy quick tap with a rubber mallot or rubber handled screw driver if your carbs are clean normally un stick the stuck float. now if they are bad and have not been serviced in awhile. then fuck and give the bike to me and go buy a new lmao. ill will see to it the bike gets the beating it deserves![]()
