Anywho..the Michelin Macadams are almost to the wear bars so I have been shopping around for replacements.
The bike has a 16 inch front and the rear is an 18 inch.
Sizes are 120/80-16 and 130/80-18. As such, I have limited options and other than Avon I can find my sizes in Bridgestone, Dunlop, Michelin and some Metzelers.
This will be my first set of Avom AM26 tires and they come v-rated. My bike sold in the UK for more than 10 years and the lads across the pond have provided me with some good feedback. Considering my bike and my level of riding I feel that these tires will do a fine job.
I have no complaints on the other brands that I have used other than slightly faster wear on the BT-45 from Bridgestone. The price point on the Avons is quite good as well as I can order the two for less than $200 shipped to my door.
Has anyone else used these tires or another model from Avon?
Feedback?
Will likely order in wheel bearings for both ends of the bike as well.
V rated for 149mph? Huumm...may need to find an empty stretch of road.![]()
I know Chuck (97bladerider) has the same problem and he runs the Avons also. From what he has told me he liked them just fine and got a shit ton of millage out of them.
