Need to borrow a chain tool - I'm in Epping

    Hi All,

Got a situation here. Got my son's bike here with it all apart. He said his new chain was the type with a master link c-clip, but it isn't. I was hoping someone here has a chain tool I could borrow today. He needs to ride his bike to work in the am. I will drive to get it. Call or text 781-599-6808. I'll also buy it off ya if you got a spare.

    Thanks in advance.

    Bill

Thank you so much. Job went well, son is on his way home with fresh chain and sprockets. I'll send you a text and return your tool.

I know, that actually was my only option out. Only 1 car in the family right now. I totaled my Scion FR-S last week. Totally my fault, just stupid looking at the radio on my morning commute down 495 in stop-go traffic. Look back and traffic is stopped. Rear ended a 2011 Nissan Altima at maybe 5mph. He had zero damage, my airbag went off, folded my hood in half, crunched the bumper, both fenders, and drivers door wouldn't open. My car was only 14 months old. I'm looking for a used Mini for somewhere around 10K. Next door neighbor is a wholesaler, hoping he finds something soon.

Many thanks to Dave (Stoinky) for bailing me out.

Also many thanks to Paul in Epsom that extended the offer as well. I was actually on my way there when the closer Raymond offer was texted to me. Turns out that I was literally like 3 miles from Stoinky at the time of his text.

    Glad I could help.

That tool has more use by other people than it has by me; that pleases me...

That suuuuucks! Very sorry to hear this.

How was the FR-S? This is one of those cars I don't want to drive as I'm convinced I wouldn't make it home without making a deposit..

Very fun to drive car. Didn't hold up well in an accident, but I was not injured at all, so I guess it did what it was supposed to. The FR-S is a low budget rear wheel drive sports car. Didn't have any frills, it was loud on the highway, radio sucked. Did I say it was fun to drive. I would gladly get another one, but I do like change. Decided I would try a used Mini, save a few bucks, and still have a fun to drive car.

Yeah. I traded my low-budget, RWD sports car for a FWD car that I figured would "still be fun" too. It is mostly fun... mostly.

5 MPH => crinkled fenders and a door that won't open sounds pretty crappy.
