Carb work turned out great.
I just wanted to give a shout out to Ofir Abergal for straightening out my carburators. I called him on the recommendations of scottieducati from this forum. Ofir did a great job and he did it quickly. My bike runs much smoother and pulls cleaner. And he didn't seem to mind when I showed up during the last 10minutes of the Assen 250cc race to pick the bike up.
It still a beeatch to warm up, but that's because it's a cold blooded 400cc.
Thumbs up to Ofir.
He works out of the Watertown/Belmont area. If you need carb work done then PM me and i'll get you his contact info.

Dont have any use for carb work, but that is great! Always nice to have fello members take care of you. That's what it is all about in my book!
If all else fails, Lean more....
yup good to hear buddy, glad everything worked out for ya.

Anybody know of a good carb/fuel system person up in the Manchester NH area?
I have a beat up 1989 Ninja 600R that needs some help. I rebuilt the carbs myself, but I'm still living with a rough idle, surging at low to mid throttle, and 20% power (bogging) at WOT. Aaargh!
I know the carbs need to be sync'd, but the probelms I'm experiencing are more significant than just that.
I called a non-dealer shop in Nashua NH for help, but he didn't want anything to do with a 20 year old bike that had a newbie (me) attempting maintenance. He suggested going to the dealer, but one visit there could cost more than the bike is worth.
Thanks for any recommendations.![]()
I've had good luck with Souhegan Valley Motorsports in Amherst. Give them a call and ask for Scott. When the pod filters and jet kit arrives from Spears racing I'll be sending my SV there.
Fitz
Thanks. I'll give them a call in the morning.
Sounds like the pilot circuit is still clogged.. I fix up old bikes and I bouight a 5 gal drum of Gunk Hydro seal ($130.00 I know its not cheap) same stuff the shops use. Take the carbs apart and put the whole rack in the drum for 24 hrs. The take them out and blow them out with compressed air and it works every time. With an 89 Ninja I would do a compression test as well, before you spend the money on having the carbs done.
