I've had enough of the crap I'm using now(Spectro X1). It keeps the chain in good shape but slings everywhere compared to a brand I forget the name of from other years. Anybody have a wax brand that consistently stays on the chain and performs well. Tired of scrubbing and worrying about it being on the tires edge.

Come visit me if you're near Boston.
I have about 6 options including 2 chain waxes, clear lube and sticky teflon lube.
Propper application goes a long way.
Yeah, Duncan Moto has tons of shizznit
Motul Factory Chain Lube is great. It is exactly like the stuff that comes on the chain from the factory (ironically). Ted do you carry it? I got my can online.
no bikes currently

I have started using the Dupont Teflon dry lube after reading many reviews on it.
I am impressed ... dries immediately and also makes chain cleaning incredibly easy.

I'll have to check that stuff out

Just a tip I picked up.
As long as the rollers and o rings have a good amount of coverage you can wipe off any excess from the links. This will help keep the gunk down no matter what wax or lube you use.

No wheres near Boston unfortunately. Usually spray it after a ride and wipe the excess off.
I think that as the stuff I loved. Black, blue and silver label if I remember. I couldn't find it locally and figured wax is wax. I was wrong.
Never heard of it until now Schweet!
I usually lube'er up every 300-400 miles. With over 22k and perfect chain and sprocket this stuff I have now is garbage. Have barely used any of it but its going in the trash once I find the maxima again or the Dupont stuff. Bel Ray was my next "go to".
NESR Rocks. Thanks![]()

If you're going this route, you may want to read the following:

Been using the blue cans purchased at Lowes, just started using the yellow cans.
It does not pick up dirt, cleaning is a breeze with a K-1 soaked rag.
No dirt, no greasy buildup around the primary sprocket ... that chore was the determining factor for me to give this a shot. Last time I did it, took almost 15 minutes to get all the crud out from that area.

Well all waxes and lubes will gunk up. So proper application will help.
I just started using lube as opposed to wax and dent do the chain wipe and sure enough it made a huge mess.
So whatever you use just be sure that the excess is cleaned up and you will be happy with any number of products.
This is coming from someone who does maybe 2 cleanings a year
On a side note I hear great things about the Scotts oilers. I may go this route for next season
I use Motul chain cleaner and Maxima chain wax and haven't had a build-up problem.
I usually do my cleaning after a ride. Usually between 800-1000 miles apart. I clean per the Motul instructions and with a Grunge Brush. Then spray the wax and wipe the excess.
The chain is more than sufficiently warm by the time I get to the wax that it seeps in.
I've been using the blue-can Dupont Teflon stuff for a couple of years now and absolutely love it. It's clean, and it works extremely well. I suspect it's largely responsible for the fact I got nearly 32,000 miles out of the original chain on my V-Strom.

When the chain warms up again, the chainwax is going to fling.
I've used it many many years. I switched to the Dupont stuff and after one application / ride...literally chucked the rest of my chainwax. Never again will I put it on anything with a chain.
I use to hit the chain after a ride or take the bike for a short ride to warm the chain up and let it sit overnight after applying chainwax. Doesn't fly off eh? You should tell that to the counter shaft cover, clutch pushrod, engine case and so on. What a friggin nightmare mess that was.
Chainwax guys should try it. Wosrt case scenario is you're out 6-8 bucks. Garantee 9 out of 10 of you buy another can of the Dupont stuff instead of chainwax.
Yes, it's that good.
Oh...you know how some Alpinestars boots (and many others, I imagine) squeak like hell? Dupont chain saver works well on the squeaky annoying hard armor too.
