I haven't flushed the coolant on the 01 F4i since owning it, which has been 2 1/2 years so far. I'm realizing it's long overdue for a coolant flush, but need to ride home this weekend (150 mi., NY-MA) and back on Monday, when I'll hopefully flush it.
Question is, will I be risking any further damage by riding 300 miles with wicked old coolant in there?
If so, I suppose I can get a bus somehow...
Thanks folks

Im no expert but I would not worry about it for the ride. If you havent had any problems then just flush it when you get back.
If it hasn't been a problem yet, it shouldn't be a problem now that the weather is cooler.
Worse case it over heats a light goes on and you pull over for a while.
To be safe, just go ask a service shop to take a hydrometer reading from your radiator.

LOL. You worry too much. Coolant will last years and years.
+1 what Sean says. 300 will last for you til the flush. Hell, mine's been in for years too. Just make sure the level's ok.
Thanks for the info guys. Re: derek - I prefer "careful" lol

Worry about it when you ride to North Dakota in January. NEw england in sep? You could run maple syrup in there.Originally Posted by Pleasegivesoap
