Coppah has developed a nasty vibration and I've got to have it looked at. Where should I go, who should I see?
Mark B. (TLRman) has done a throttle sync and a timing retard adjustment (Mark, did I remember that right?). The sync helped a bit, but the problem is getting worse.
It's a straightforward pounding through the bars that's directly dependent upon engine rpm. There used to be a "sweet spot" at around 4,000 rpm, but even that's gone now.
My guess is valves out of adjustment, but what else would cause the cylinders to fire with different levels of force? Am I missing something simple, or do I take it to a pro?
Lemme know!

Who/what the fuck is Coppah?
If he's your dog, see a vet.
If he's your uncle, see a doctor.
If he's your bike, see a mechanic.
If he's your imaginary friend, see a shrink.

Sorry to derail what could be an epic thread, but...
Coppah is a 2003 SV1000s (the one on the left in this pic).

Not to derail what might be helpful replies, but any idea where to get a headlight setup like that Copper just to the right of yours?
Engine mounts, loose exhaust
How many miles since a valve adjustment ? Plugs ?
The manifold rubber pops off, the front spark plug cavity fills with water
Degsy: "i never had red hair"
some people crash because it is out of their control
others crash because They are out of control

Not to derail the discussion of Landric's extraordinary work, but a scan of the SV1000 portal suggests issues with alternator magnets coming loose.
I know what I'll be doing this weekend.

Not to derail what's already been derailed. But do people REALLY name their bikes?
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Not to derail what's already been derailed after it got derailed, but that Ostrich pic still gives me the lulz.
