Hello,
So my 2018 bike has an oil leak around the stator cover and my bike is out of warranty. I have done work on cars before so I figured I would give it a go.
After digging a little I realized maybe I should have taken my bike to a shop...lol... We may very well end up there in the end.
So after I removed the stator cover, I am trying to take the old paper gasket off which is breaking into very small pieces. Any help on what can I do to help that along?
What do you do for surface prep work after the gasket is removed to remove any oil residue and clean surface?
The other part is where the stator wires exits the cover, I need to remove the square rubber block and add some liquid gasket to help seal that area as it does not have a seal besides a friction fit gasket. I have some yamabond 4 I was thinking of using instead of RTV. Thoughts?
It was all simple in my head, get in and get out... I wanted to ride this weekend as its showing 60ish and sunny. I guess that wont be happening
