I hear ya. It's all opinion but I'm not a fan of that blue they use on the oem rims.
Someone around here will squirt 'em for ya I bet though. I need mine done too so I'm gonna have to keep a good eye out in here.

I did it on my old ass gxr750, they were purple and I painted them black just using rattle can primer and then gloss black. They looked decent but I wouldn't go that route on a new/worth alot of money bike. If you are gonna pay to take em off and do them right then I would have them powder coated as it is more durable.

Rim and Wheel works in Newton..... Maybe Waltham strips and refinishes rims.
I'm not sure what they would charge for bikes, but they have fixed a couple of car rims for me and they came out very well.
