    um..i'm going on on a limb and calling bs on this one, unless you can produce some hard evidence... powder cures between 325-375f

    Direct Coating in Concord, NH does good work. They did my headers inside and out for around $160.

    thats not the temperature range i was quoted.
    and i'm not going to dive into the debate again, but suffice it to say that baking the wheel can effect the heat treatment the wheel manufacturer performs..
    This is dependent on temperature it is baked at.

    this is because of components of the alloy precipitating out of solid solution and causing millions of microscopic points of weakness, rendering the wheel brittle.

    and i consulted a PhD carrying metallurgist on the question, so this is not a thought i pulled out of my ass.

    that being said, if your temp quotes are right, the risk is probably minimal.. but still not one i personally would take.

    Like I said previously I wouldn't hesitate to do it, temps should be approaching 400 at max
