Im in the middle of streetfightering my f4i. Got the parts, well most of em. just have 2 questions. Any one know where I can get an aluminum plate welded to the top crown for reenforcement (cheap). and what Throttle, clutch, brake lines will work. Need longer ones, but not sure what has same ends on them. Any ideas? Thanks...
Any welding shop should be able to do it. All they need is a TIG welder.
Also try exhaust shops.
If I had my own TIG, I'd do it.
piece has to machine into shape around ignition and up to fork legs as well. I was gettin quotes for several hundred bucks. Tryin to do it cheaper than 100. Thanks tho

As for cables I would look at HAI bike shop and just buy some ones for stunters...they run them all the time on F4i's

I would Drill the Top Triple Clamp and Install a Set of Solid mount dirtbike Clamps. They came in 7/8 (which is the most common Bar size)

150 alone for the weld. Yea I know. I had a friend that had a mill and welders but hes no longer in the area so I figured Id see if anyone has equipment to loan cheap. I have to drill the clamps for the dirt bike bars into the top crown. Only prob there is the aluminum is wafer thin. thats why a plate hast to be cut and welded in. I was looking for an aftermarket one with the clamps built onto it, nada. thanks for the pointer on the cables.

I wonder if the Hornet 600 has the same triple?

I already got the bars + clamps (pro atper). My uncle has a small shop in CT I turned the spare/ slightly damaged bins inside out nothing lined up well. Either way I made it this far with hardly 0 investment. Bars clamps and headlight and still under 100 bucks invested. Thanks ebay. The welding and cables are gonna get me unless I can find a set of cables on ebay. thats why I was trying to find a model with the same ends as the f4 has just longer, so I know what to search for. Either way the main purpose for doing this isnt for stunting. Small wheelies and occasional stoppie is enough for me. Mainly stance. I commute on this thing mostly. I use my rc ror the fast fun riding.
If you commute mainly i have no idea why you would turn it into a street fighter. I would have got helis and called it a day. you are going to get destroyed with wind compared to the full fairings.
The commuting portion is all town riding anyway. Winda blast wont be an issue. Cant really ride the rc51 in town its a pain in the ass going less than 40 on that thing. Doin the change mainly just to check it out, possibly switch it back if need be. Thats mainly why Im trying to do this as cheap as possible. Thanks for all the pointers though. Ill post pictures when I finally finish it.
i had that idea when i fightered my f3. no dice. i ended up buying a nice set of oversized mounts and bars that worked great, but good luck getting those holes perfect. i used the ebay store pit posse. you can order brake lines to custom lengths for pretty cheap. i think i bought a hornet clutch cable also...it really isnt a hard mod.
