Just got some foot pegs in the mail and can't figure out how to get the damn things on. I didn't order the whole rear set, JUST the pegs.
Probably shoulda looked at the set up before i ordered them...but im a think first react later kinda guy. Any insight!?!
Should be an Allen bolt on the underside of the foot peg.
i'm not sure off the top of my head what the assembly is, but I can check when i get home. if it ends up being a wrong or missing part or somethin, i've got spare OEM rearsets that will fit your bike fine (off a 06 R6S)
what i would do, if you cant find someone with a repair manual, is go on a Yami dealer and go on Parts Finder (fiche). Look for rearsets/foot controls, or whatever the hell they call them. You'll see a complete list of parts with washers, bolts, etc. That should give you an idea how the peg comes apart.
Gotcha. Thanks for the advice all. When i get off shift tonight I'll take a better look and see what I'm working with down there....
...that's what she said...

I've got a black starboard side adjustable Vortex rear set, use you stock brake pedal, no idea what to charge. $75? find the port set on Ebay
It is different. What I can't figure out is what type of tool I would need to remove #33 and 34 (right side) and #21 and 22 (left side). It would appear that if I could get those parts off that I could slide the new pegs into place and just screw them in with the springs etc. I've never seen any type of "pin" or "screw" or whatever the hell they are calling them...
left side is just a pin that slides out, it's retained by a weak little cotter pin that you should be able to re-use if you're not a goon about taking it out...
right side - that picture sucks... I doubt it's a push-nut, which is what it looks like in the pic.... after a quick search on the r6 boards, it seems like people cut the pin on the right hand side with a die cuter or something, then buy the pin and cotter pin from the left side to use on the right also (home depot should have some pins & cotter pins for you)
do yourself a favor, in an age we wall have pics on our cell phones, take a pic of the spring set up... They are fairly simple but I lost count of how many people have non spring loaded pegs after their first install.
Ill see about the cotter pin pulling out. cutting that other bolt off is going to be a royal pitfa...
Who would have thought such a cheap little mod could be so irritating? Maybe ill just have the shop do it when I bring it in for servicing some time. I'll try this first though.
