Hello everyone!!!
It's been a while! Well, I started to put my bike back together and now I find out my brake light does not work when I pull on the front brake(rear works)and I tried jumping the wires to see if the switch was bad and that did not work , Also when I switch on the right hand turn signal it flashes much faster than the left. I'm real concerned about the brake light not so much about the turn signal, Can anyone give me some advise?
Thanks,
Dan R.![]()

Start with the simple things like seeing if any of the pins in the connectors comming from that harness are bent over or just not plugged in all the way. Also look to see if you clamped the switch harness comming right out of the switch holder thingy.
It doesnt sound like the signal wire is even making it to the bars![]()

I've tried that. I even took a wire and jumped the two wires coming out of the switch at the lever and nothing happens. I have checked the fuses, followed wires all over the place, and no luck. I crashed this bike last summer but the bars never impacted anything.![]()
Thanks again,
Danny

Your brake lever most likely completes the circuit between 12 volts and the brake light, at least this is the simplest circuit. So, one of the wires running to your brake light should be connected to the battery, one should be connected to the 12 volt side of your brake light. You can check this with an ohmmeter. Once you've identified which wire is the problem, begin by checking/cleaning corrosion at both ends of the trouble wire. If this doesn't solve your problem, trace the wire as far back as you can, looking for breaks in the wire.
Thanks,
I'll give it a shot,

All fixed!!!!
I was messing around with that switch again today and when I touched the wires together the light came on!(the wire I was using must have had a break in it) I played with the switch and the light came on, then it didn't, Then I messed with it again and it came on, Then it didn't, So I took it off and it was all busted up in an area I couldn't see without taking it off. a new one cost me $15.00, Not bad.
Thanks again for all your help, You guys ROCK!!!
