Spent this weekend hiding out in the shop working on the KTM. The SX is now a six-speed
Split the cases, pulled the tranny, added 5th and 6th, machined the shift drum, etc. It was actually a lot of fun. Just put her back together, got most of the safety-wiring done and ran her up and down the block... oooooh six gears.

Is that your bridgeport? Thats a nice setup man.
How is the six speed compared to the four? Worth it? I'm thinking about putting six gears in my 520SX, as the wide four means I spend some time clutching it in the slow stuff.
They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

Yep... Thanks! I moved it in myselfActually came to the rescue when doing this upgrade.
Not sure switching to a six would help you out as 1-4 stay the same, you just add 5 and 6... I think you can add a heavier flywheel. That may helpI have the flywheel puller if you ever want to give it a shot. I'd be happy to help you upgrade it to six, too if you wanted to do it. Costs about $300 in pahts.
