    help gettin her started?

hey guys. just tried firing up the bike. nothing. charged the battery up and it tried to crank up but didnt. i let it charge longer and then i kept getting a fast ticking sound which sounded like it came from a box behind the battery. my dash was lit up normal and i heard the fuel pump and everything turn on. any ideas what it could be?05 gsxr 1000.hope to get some advice.thanks

That happen to mine... Believe it or not it was a bad ground on the bike. I was positive it was a good ground but not good enough. I also had that clicking nose coming from behind the battery. I'm sure you just need a better connection.

Sounds to me like a bad battery. Every time ive heard that fast ticking its been a bad battery, car or bike. Just not enough to spin the starter.

Before you throw money at a new battery, remove it from the bike and try a 2amp charge for 8-10 hrs first. The bike's charging system alone is not enough to bring the battery back up and it can be taxing to the entire system, battery included.

If it freezes uncharged it dies. With a charge it will be fine.

I thought it had something to do with spliting the cells... I have never had a battery come back from freezing... but I differ to Degs he is smarter than me.

Listen for a rapid clicking sound in spring. Lol. You could try a charger for 8 hours at 2A like bergs says but that battery is always going to limp by at best probably.

Yes but I thought the car battery was bigger and took longer to freeze than a small motorcycle battery.

    Don't get me started here.
Read the directions that came with your battery.
Bring it to a shop and have them test the cells if it's an AGM.
