The '99's weren't..all the others are...from the factory.
In france I know that the SV's are also limited to only 105 hp. What a friggen waste. But if you remove a certain wire.....

For the Busa...
Just wire a 6.9 K/Ohm resister into the Gear shift position sensor and it's unrestricted again...

BTW, they are supposed to be restricted to 184 mph

Yah I was going to buy a BUSA but 187mph is just way too slow.

I'm saving up for an airplane. Tough to roll into bike night with and performance really suffers once you chrome the whole body, but they have killer top end.

Correct. And it was starting with the 2001 Hayabusa and the zx12R.

1999 (first year) and 2000 Hayabusas are unrestricted stock. It is not that difficult to unrestrict one.

Beet, no unmolested bike rolling off the showroom floor ever hit 200. That was the big stir up amongst the moto rags a couple years ago. Was not a US govt mandate but a European mandate that the moto manufacturers decided to initiate worldwide. They capped top speeds to exacly what Randy said, 300kph. Few know that they also agreed to scale back top speeds from that point too, at different intervals 3-5-10 years (or whatever was agreed). As Mark mentioned, the limiters are a bit soft though.....LOL.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they did it 'voluntarily'. Basically, they were 'voluntold' to do it or they'd face much more strict gov't guidelines should mandates become necessary...

The Busa is easy to "de-restrict", but it will suffer down low from it. If you put in the TRE or a resister it will change the timing on the computer. I had a TRE in my Busa but removed it after I found this out, how often does anyone go over 186.
