This probably seems like a dumb question to anyone familiar with this procedure but I'll go anyway. I've got a Slime patch kit that comes with a ton of patches, scuffer and glue. The patches are black with a gray border on one side and all gray on the other side. Now the instructions refer to a clear plastic backing side (which is the side with the black and gray border) and a foil side, the "foil" is really blue plastic (all gray side). The instructions make it sound like the black and gray side go against the tube? Is that correct? The only thing that confuses me is it seems like the all gray side is a little sticky like it would stick to the tube better.
The clear plastic side goes against the tire. There is a tool called a stitching tool that is a serrated wheel. The plastic keeps the stitching tool from beating the patch to death.
