My 18V Dewalt drill and sawzall came with a 1/4" hex drive impact wrench which does a fantastic job at breaking loose all the small fasteners on a bike. I haven't used my impact driver at all since I got the Dewalt.

Hand impact does 2 things at once

The impact force unloads the threads
    The turning force unscrews it.

This should save both the screw but more importantly the
    threaded hole

    I use these:

They also have an impact driver set. You can get the bits separately if you already have an impact driver already.
