I bought these "good condition" used rains from a dude on svrider. I'm thinking I should ask for my $ back as a disposal fee. Please offer input, not sure they are safe to ride on with this much rot, especially on the sidewall.
I wouldn't use them...well maybe on a motard in the dirt.
I did the same thing a few years ago, bought a set, got them home and inspected closer to find they were cracked just like those. Sent the guy a message, he sent me the money back and I tossed them in the trash

I'd trash them. I've run tires with almost imperceptible cracks in the sidewalls when inflated and it was an unpleasant experience. As you're leaning the bike they behave normally to a point and then they tip dramatically. There's no way I'd run those.

Good condition...in other words "nice from far but far from nice"
Thanks guys, I'm pissed that I didn't back away as soon as I saw the old tread pattern in the pics the guy sent me initially. I just sent him a PM voicing my displeasure and hopefully not sounding like too much of a prick. Sucks that even if he gives a refund I'm still going to be out one way's shipping and wont have any rains.
Pete, what size do you need? I may know someone who has an extra set.
Oh hell no! Those are trash.
Out of curiosity, what did you pay for them?

I dont want to say since I will most likely be posting the wheels FS soon. It was considerably less than a new set of rains and it included a decent set of wheels w/rotors.
I have an extra set too you can check out

Ill buy those rain tires if you don't want them. I use rains on 17s for flat track at wachusett valley riders club so a little dry rots not really a big deal to me.

My data is a little old as I've been away from racing for some years. BUT, as much as things change, they really do stay the same...
The Pirelli info I have is through teammates, not first hand, but they were not even in the same hemisphere as the bridgestones, and I'm otherwise a Pirelli guy. From what my teammates and friends (fastguys) tell me, they are better than DOTs but not a tire for racing against the bridgestones on!
