I want to learn how to do more work on my bike.
Are there any classes in the area like this one?
$1,500 for a class? Fuck that.
Buy something broken, get a repair manual, and dive in.
Youtube has great content on it for almost everything you would need to do to a bike.
Spend that money on tools and a repair manual.
I know Seacoast does seminars.....

I could run a basic maintenance ( up to valve adjustments) course at my house for 5-10 people for short money (for refreshments, materials etc). Any interest?
I have done that. I don't have much of a mechanical background and have found that having someone to help when I'm stuck or showing me tricks that are not in the manual make everything easier.
I feel much better working through issues on my car but I want to make sure I don't make any mistakes on my track bike as hurting myself, or worse others, because of something I missed is my concern.

Like others have said buy a repair manual, tools and have a computer to search youtube/forums. I have yet to need a dealership for repairs. Only things I dont do is tire replacements and suspension work.
Perfect recent example was the drive shaft (shaft the front sprocket goes on) oil seal started leaking on my 06 GSXR. I had no freaking clue on what I needed to do. Couple hours of research (repair manual, youtube, forums) and had the bad one out, and the new one in.

I was hoping Geno and a couple of others might come over and help instruct :-) geno doesnt live far away.
if it is other than a Hawk forget about it.

Perfect. An inline 4 is the most common bike and it would have to be a bike that was not ridden in, as it needs to be at ambient temp for valves adjustments.Originally Posted by Jimmy Faceplant

List of topics. Add anything you would specifically like to learn.
Oil/filter change
Air filter check
Chain and sprocket install
Wheel removal
Fork removal (no fork internal stuff, ill leave that to PK)
Valve check/adjustment
Clutch replacement
FI code diagnosis
Carb removal/clean
Brake pad/line change and brake bleed
Coolant drain and flush/fill.
Exhaust removal/install.
Shock removal/install
Swingarm removal/install.
Tire swap
Basic charging system.
Onviously, getting to all of that in one day would be impossible, even with 3 "instructors" so we would have to decide what to focus on.
