I'm in for this. I don't think I've actually met most of the people talking about it and that'd be worth the time right there.

Safety wiring?
Blinker fluid?
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
Slowness removal?
I'd be down to help out.
Please demonstrate the difference between a Craftsman 'phillips' driver and a JIS driver.

The inside edge between the tangs on a JIS screw bit is a more square shape. The tangs are also fatter and uniform from top to bottom on a JIS. On a phillips, they are thinner and taper down.
^^This. It is the only mechanical skill that still sometimes escapes me. I have spent hours on a single bolt. I have no issue rebuilding an engine or transmission in a bike or car or boat though.
To the OP the best mechanical skill is confidance. Get a bike for $500 and rebuild it from the ground up. By the time ur done you will probably be into it for $1000-$1500 and have a more valueable bike and probably be an expert on that bike at least. And if you screw something ip rember it was only a $500 bike.

My R6 probably needs a valve check... I'll come down and drink / watch you do it![]()

You know, I never thought to look there. Turns out the best option is the place I bought direct from just advertising on Amazon.
In for learning how to do a valve check...
Would be fun to do it all as a practical lesson on our own bikes...
And yes I know that doing all this requires a) tools b) materials.
Perhaps a materials and tools list for us?
This actually sounds pretty awesome. If I'm not working I would def be down for a repair workshop.

I could use a course in FI codes and trouble shooting that. I'm in for that portion.
