So I finally spent some time in the garage rather than in the house working. I got the new RC51 back in December and it ran fine than. A little over a month ago I failed trying to get it started. I drained the gas and refilled with fresh 93 Octane. Still will not start. I took out the filters and tryed starter fluid. Almost worked.
So since the bike has yet agian sat.Tonight a changed the spark plugs and tried her again. It still sounds as if it want to turn over but will not. Came closer to starting with the starting fluid but just will not catch.
I went to CAP and bought FI cleaner and octain booster to try that next, maybe tomorrow. I checked all the fuses and everything is fine, Any other idea's??? When I got the bike if fired up and ran perfectly. Battery is also ok and on a trickle charger right now.
What should I try next?
Degsy you out there???

check for spark... If you have spark it should have lit off the starting fluid.
Also, it's been sitting. Look carefully to make sure no unwelcome guests made dinner out of some wiring.

All the wiring looks fine, no unwelcomed visitors left any evidence of taking a free ride.
I am pretty sure there is spark because I have small flames exit both exhuasts a few times. I think I put too much fluid once or twice....
How else is there to check for spark? I can only imagine I would have to dig out the connector wires and press the ignition key while looking in the boot of the contact?

Stupid question but is the little red switch on the right hand grip set to run?
Did you put the key in AND turn it?

In Nuetral, key was in, & kill switch was in the on position.....
Arg.. agrivating I really want to be able to ride sometime this year. House is in decent shape and I can afford to take a day here and there for a ride.

Disconnect the power commander and try again.....and stop using ether to try to start it unless you want bent valves. Mike. Call me tomorrow after 9am.
Good point on the power commander. You need to completely disconnect it if that is causing the problem.
