hey everyone. so i have been in the process of building a gen 2 (2008) sv 14K miles to race with next year. currently i race a daytona 675 and with the triumphs it was super important to remove the factory cam chain tensioner and go to the manual one due to them being a piece of crap and commonly breaking. how are the gen 2 sv650 tensioners? i have seen online the gen 1 has the problem but i havent seen anything about the gen 2's. also if you are suggesting to replace them does anyone know the markers for when each cylinder is not on any of the cam lobes so the chain wont jump when i remove the old ones? thanks again to everyone for any help and suggestions.![]()
Good question.
I haven't touched mine in the 8 years that I've been racing my '06.
