So, I just purchased a used Daytona 675. I want recommendations for a reliable Triumph shop in the Boston area that will not rob you. In the past I used seacoast for Ducati and was happy with them.

When I had my STR I did business at Great Bay Motorcycles in North Hampton NH. Pretty sure they pick up, too. I had Seacoast set up the suspension on the bike.

At the end of the season I will probably bring my Tiger to 2nd Wind.
Great Bay quoted me over list on a Tiger 800 and I have no interest in getting fucked for service as well.

Well, I did "some" business at Great Bay when I had the STR. I started going there when I had my M S4R and Al Arbor was service manager, I've known Al basically forever.
I stopped in Second Wind twice when I had the Triumph, weekday visits when I was the only customer in the sales and parts area. The first visit, everyone ignored me for 10 minutes while I looked at bikes, then finally the BMW sales manager spoke to me, showed me around the BMWs. The second time at Second Wind, I waited at the parts counter for several minutes while two employees behind the counter had a conversation without looking up or acknowledging me. I wandered into the Triumph showroom and asked the salesman a question, he waved me over to a bike, then picked up the phone and launched into a long conversation.
Nobody's perfect.
Other than warranty, what do you need a dealer for?

Definitely head to Second Wind. Just say no to Great Bay.
I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but as you said earlier all dealers have people who they turned off one way or another. While one person is treated like royalty, they may completely ignore others. Incidental or not, these things happen everywhere. In my opinion, what it comes down to is service. I've heard too many horror stories that begin with "I took my bike into Great Bay..." that didn't end so well. Gouged rims, claiming to have done valve checks without even opening an engine casing, charging different shop rates for different people.
Great Bay treated me very nice up until I complained about an issue with my previous Tiger 800. Didn't do a thing to fix it, yet others have gotten replacement motorcyles (albeit for more serious malfunctions) by means of contacting the regional rep. I don't like when places play favorites. I have also dealt with SSC and Second Wind, and both treated me with respect.
To each his own I suppose. No two experiences are the same. If one person can learn from my mistakes, I made my point.

I've had experience with Second Wind and Great Bay. Second Wind has been far and above with customer service and willingness to work with me.
Quick example .. Great Bay wanted $150 to load the TOR fuel map. I told them that was ridiculous and they gave me the list of reasons why they needed over an hour and a half labor. Second Wind billed me for 1/4 an hour of labor.
I vote Second Wind for the win.
I was one who didn't get it. I went all the way up from CT looking for a small mom and pop type dealer seeing all we had was Gengras down here. I should have just gone to Gengras. Great Bay was great until I signed on the dotted line then that was it. I will say that Adam was great but that is all the accolades I can give.
As long as we are covering New England ... I bought my 2010 STR new from Precision in Pawtucket, 50 miles from me, about the same distance as Second Wind and Great Bay. They treated me well, the salesman delivered the bike to me on his own time with his own trailer. Wouldn't you know, the RR (old style) melted on my first ride, I made it home OK, but then I was 50 miles from "my" dealer with no truck or trailer. After a few days, they got the new style RR in, and the tech rode up to my house and installed it here in my garage. Probably not what Triumph wants to hear, but let me give a THUMBSUP to Precision in Pawtucket for literally going the extra 50 miles -- twice.

Now that's ^^^ a great dealer experience, well above and beyond what I'd ever actually expect but it's nice to hear things like that.
Good to know. I don't mind travelling 50 miles for the service when I need service. Most bikes these days don't need service that often. I can always change the oil and lube the chain myself, but for the bigger things I definitely need the dealer and am happy to support their business within reason.
