Hey all, I picked up a 1995 Yamaha FZR 600 earlier this summer. So far I've thrown a fair amount of money at it, replaced the chaing and sprockets, and had the oil change done. It has a little over 15,000 miles on it. Are there any important jobs that need to be done at particular mileage milestones? With my Honda Accord, the big thing was the timing belt around 80,000...What sort of important jobs should i check for on a bike?
Valve adjustment and cam chain tensioner.

Whats the usual mileage for a job like that?
Not sure what yamaha is quoting for the FZR, but there is never a quoted mileage for at least checking valve clearances. I do regularly. As for cam chains tensioners, I actually replaced mine with a manual tensioner. but I have always replaced these type of wear items when I started to question them. The shop manual will be a good start to answer those questions. I posted a link to huge amounts of online manuals of which yours should have been included. Do a search under "Santa" or "Christmas" and it should return my post.
